FX
Originally known as the Tamaraw FX, the FX is a more comfortable and more expensive ride against the jeep. It comes in several forms- the original that seats 10 people and the van form that seats 18 people. The FX usually has aircon and has closed glass windows.
HOW TO RIDE AN FX
STEP 1
It’s a sign!
FXs have signboards in front with their stops written on it! They also have the terminals where they start from and end at written on the side of the doors.
STEP 2
Squish
Raise you hand to hail down your chosen FX. You can choose to sit in front which seats 2 people, in the middle which sits 4 - 8 depending on which type of FX you ride, and the back which can sit 4-8 as well.
TIP 1
Where?
You can ask the driver if you’re not sure about your route. You can always just ask the driver to drop you off at your stop.
STEP 3
Bayad po!
Pay by calling out “Bayad po!” (I'm Paying!). If you’re at the back, you can ask the people sitting in the middle to hand over your payment
STEP 4
Until here
Call out your destination and number of people you’re paying for as you pay.
e.g. Your desitination is Quiapo
STEP 5
Para Po!
Call out “Para po” (Please Stop!) to halt the FX.
TIP 2
We’re all in this together
Be prepared to squish a lot. It may look like it’ll sit only 3 people but it will fit 4 with a little puzzle solving action. Someone will have to move forward sometimes to make space.
TIP 3
The collector
In case you ride from the terminal, there will be cases wherein the payment will be collected by a conductor. In this case, tell them your stop and pay. They’re usually the person holding a bundle of money.
